Main fire and rescue station
Mülheim an der Ruhr
Contractor: Züblin AG
Client: SMW GmbH
Architect: BFM Architekten, Cologne
In just over a year, a modern fire station with vehicle halls, various workshops, a locksmith's shop, a carpentry workshop, a tailor's shop and a sports hall was built on the 25,000 square metre site.
In addition to the control centre, the station also houses a command and situation centre, which is also used by the city's crisis management team if necessary.
The outdoor area includes a breathing apparatus training course, a diving training pool and a fire training house.
