Head Office for Germany in Cologne
Architects: Thomas Kostulski and Oevermann GmbH
Interior design: Römer Partner and Brigitta Poggel, SCOR
Client: IS-Institut für Stadtentwicklung GmbH
The clearly structured SCOR office building with its two staggered storeys takes up the different heights of the neighbouring buildings.
A three-storey conservatory interrupts the finely detailed pattern of windows on the street façade.
Inside, the concept is based on the company's worldwide guidelines for a networked working environment: open areas alternate with lounges and retreat areas as well as a few individual offices. The winter garden, an art concept and the "Vertical Garden" in the foyer provide a pleasant working environment.
The building, which is certified as a "Green Building", meets the highest ecological requirements with its highly insulated exterior façade and a cooling and heating system powered by groundwater.
